Fern Creek is considered to be a historic community with the oldest structure being a log cabin from 1789. Bardstown Rd. originally named stage road was the main passage between Bardstown, KY. and Louisville, KY.
Hikes Point was settled by George Hikes an American Revolutionary War veteran. George Hikes moved here after serving in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. He decided to move his four sons and wife here and bought the land from William Meriwether in 1791.
Jeffersontown, originally names Brunerstown, was settled by Revolutionary war veterans in the late 1700’s. The Watterson Trail and Taylorsville Rd. were developed by Abraham Bruner. Bruner originally purchased 122 acres with the intent of establishing a town, and people bought plots of land from him to create businesses.
