Anchorage/ Glenview/ Lyndon/ Prospect
MLS Area 09
Anchorage has long been known as home of some of the area’s wealthiest citizens, though the large old estates have mostly been divided up and many new, still upscale, houses have been built in the area, especially since 1977. Part of the city is designated as the Anchorage Historic District, which was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982.
Glenview has the 2nd-highest per capita income within Kentucky and the 74th-highest in the United States. The city is known for its old estate homes on high bluffs overlooking the Ohio River.
Incorporated on May 10, 1965, Lyndon became part of the new Louisville Metro government in 2003. It remains an independent city with its own mayor and emergency services and is not counted in Louisville’s population although its citizens can vote for the mayor of Louisville and Metro Council members.
Prospect is one of the wealthiest communities in Kentucky. Prospect is located in northeastern Jefferson County. A small portion of the city extends north into Oldham County.
